NATALIE CHRISTINA

Of mixed heritage, having been born in Washington D.C. to an American father and Ecuadorian mother, she was raised both in Quito, Ecuador and the United States. Because of her upbringing she always had a deep desire in her soul to honor the beauty of different cultures by sharing that which is so unique, yet also very similar and connects us as a collective humanity.

Natalie Christina studied Government and International Politics at George Mason University in the suburbs of Washington, DC. where she participated in Model United Nations and as a result of it, she was able to travel to other states and countries gaining experience in politics, government organizations and diplomacy. For over ten years she worked as a Research Analyst for Teal Group Corporation, a leading Aerospace and Defense Consulting Firm.

In her spare time she went on to study at one of the first and finest acting schools in the United States, at the American Academy of Dramatic arts in New York City. She worked professionally as an actress appearing in national and international television shows, commercials and in several industrial training films. Her full list of film credits can be found on the web through the International Movie Database (IMDB). She has also starred in several theater plays and is a member of the prestigious Screen Actors Guild (SAG AFTRA) union.

Her work as an actress led her to move to Los Angeles and it was there, where she discovered the Art and Science of Yoga. The word Yoga literally means to unite and it was through yoga where Natalie was finally able to combine her very much analytical and creative sides of her, in this ancient practice. It quickly became a passion of hers and she became certified as a Kundalini and Prenatal Yoga Teacher. She holds a Level 1 and 2 certifications (the two levels attainable) from the Kundalini Research Institute, is a member of the International Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association, and is certified teacher through Yoga Alliance at the E-RYT 200 level. She has taught at several studios, schools and universities in the Los Angeles area, taught at a retreat in Costa Rica, and other spiritual retreats in California.

Natalie’s deep commitment to volunteer work led her to volunteer as a yoga teacher for several years at a homeless shelter, where she won a grant for them to continue the great labor they do at The Center in Hollywood. Volunteering has always been an important part of Natalie’s life. In college she volunteered at the Washington Ear Organization, where she would read for the blind, she was a lector at her church for several years, also taught religious studies to third and fifth graders, and would visit senior citizens on a weekly basis at assisted living communities in the Washington DC area.

Some of her hobbies include dancing flamenco, cooking, snowboarding and being out in nature.

Natalie Christina created Atma Sphere to share cultural wisdom and ancient traditions found in yoga and to share handmade arts and crafts in order to continue to preserve the traditional skills of indigenous tribes for generations to come.
